Another wedding coming up for FurrieBoots and this time we are heading to Aberdeen Beach Ballroom.

This Art Deco Building is a favourite of mine in Aberdeen and holds some good memories of Blues Awards Balls for Robert Gordon University.

Sunset on the Beach

This was taken a couple of years ago at low tide, I wasn’t out there in my wellies! I’d love to revisit this to see if I can improve on it. This is a bit harder now I am based in Newmachar.

I was visiting on Monday to go over the wedding that I will be shooting there in a few weeks and meeting with the couple that I am working for. The weather on Monday was fab if a little chilly, now just for it to be fine in June and not as cold!

A few larger blogs to come, but just now there have been a couple of little ones to let you know that I am still here… just not blogging as much as I should!

But it’s not been still.  That’s what happens when you have a 2 year old in your life.

Let me introduce you to Miss E. Eilidh

My feisty whirlwind, who is always on the move since she found her feet.  Loves bubbles, trains, trucks and Digga’s! Also loves cuggles and tickles! And her favourite dinners are “Pasta!” or “Chicken Rice!”.

The above photo was taken while having a run around Pittmedden Gardens near Ellon last summer. If you want a photoshoot with your little one, let me know. We can sort out a short session, and you can have the photos on a secure gallery from which you can make your selection from.

Oh, by the way… It is quiet now, she’s sleeping!

As some folks know from my personal page and my personal Instagram feed, I am a bit of a cloud junkie and on my ultimate to do list (something to share on my personal blog later) and my photography wishlist is to go Storm Chasing. Proper storm chasing in America. Storms don’t get big or spectacular enough in Scotland as the Lass Mass and weather systems don’t work out right here.

I have been following Mike Oblinski for a few years now, can’t quite remember how probably from a link to a blog elsewhere showing his Storm/Cloud/Weather photography. His photos are fabulous, and when he gets the time lapse going, Oh boy! Below is his latest video of time lapse storms

Breathe // An 8K storm time-lapse film from Mike Olbinski on Vimeo.

Enjoy it, I certainly did. Off to watch it again and have my breath taken away again…

I mentioned in the last post that there was some new things in the pipeline for FurrieBoots Photies in 2015 and instagram is one of them.

I have started a profile which can be found here http://instagram.com/furriebootsphoties/ which I hope to use for sharing Sneak-Peaks and Behind the Scenes shots as well as the occasional “wow!” photos or throwbacks from my personal feed.

Here’s hoping I’ll remember which feed I’m posting from 🙂

Have a good weekend!

Well hello there!

Sorry for being a bit quiet but the Christmas period has been quiet with the camera apart from the shoot with Little D at the start of December.

This little guy was very cute kitted out in his Kilt and Prince Charlie jacket as seen here:-

He had a lot of fun showing me the Christmas Tree and the baubles on there. I traded some time playing “Cars” on my phone (Angry Birds Go) later as a thank you 🙂

Am looking forward to 2015, hopefully with a few ideas under my belt for FurrieBoots, so keep your eyes peeled!

London Noctilucent Mesospheric Clouds from Christoph Malin

I’ve been lucky enough to see these a few times over the past couple of years from the bedroom window here in Aberdeen and actually captured some on the camera too.

Noctilucent clouds occur in the summertime when the sun gets low enough below the horizon to light up these high clouds from below.

If you want to know more about these pretty little things, then head here.

I need to get out to the beach one night soon to see if I can get an alternative view point, but for now it’s a quick look out the window as it’s 2 weeks to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and I’m going to be a part of it! Hopefully I’ll have something to blog about when I get back, even if it some blurry phone photos if I get the chance 🙂

Have a good Wednesday!

Well for the wedding of Sarah and Tom, what else could I title this post! I’ve known Sarah for over 15 years from meeting up at Sports committee meetings at Robert Gordon University, where she was the VP for sports and I was the Archery president. She and Tom got together 14 years ago, just before my now husband and I got together and I thought that they would tie the knot before I did, but how wrong was I!? Nearly 5 and half years after my own wedding, Sarah and Tom finally made it official at the Buchan Braes Hotel in Boddam. On the 30th of May, the day dawned a bit misty but with the prospect of the Haar being burned off, which it did and we got burnt along with it! Here is a sample of some of the pictures I took on that very sunny and happy day.

Obligatory Confetti Shot

As you can see, I had to contend with a lot of white and brilliant sunshine, how I wished for a bit of haze to help me out!

Blue and Games were the themes for the day

ST_30-05-14_086

See told you Games were a theme of the day!

There were a variety of games for playing after dinner from Cash and Guns (with foam guns I may add, no bodies are hidden…) to Carcassonne, to Formula De that 10 people could play. It was a great day all round, even though the extraction fan on the kitchen roof was running through most of the ceremony (which I forgot about until I saw a video of the ceremony) and we all caught a bit of sun and went a little pink. Thank you Sarah and Tom for asking me to be part of your day, it just wouldn’t have been the same as just as a guest (even though I would have been in more of the photos!) Will leave you with my favourite photo of the day, though it has been hard to choose, and remind you that if you would like to see more photos (and order some too 🙂 ) then please do not hesitate to contact me on the website or facebook and I will send you the link and password to the gallery!
